Here We Grow Again
To accommodate steadily increasing student enrollment and the faculty who continue to join our outstanding team, a new engineering and science building is being constructed. Scheduled for completion in 2011, this $60 million facilities will provide additional space for faculty, students and research programs.
This new building follows a period of unprecedented growth of the Watson School's facilities.
Since 1997, there has been a 90 per cent increase in the space available to the Watson School which is currently located in the Engineering Building, Bartle Library Building, Computer Center and Biotechnology building of the Innovative Technologies Complex.
In 2007, a $3.1 million renovation of the Watson School's Engineering building added18,774 square feet of new space to the School. The project involved remodeling existing space and adding new instructional and research laboratories, conference rooms and teaching assistant offices. Besides the work in the Engineering Building, the new space included a computer servers room to house research equipment in the Computer Center's ground floor and instructional laboratories on the library's ground floor. With the completion of these projects and in advance of the new building, the Watson School occupies 98,800 square feet on campus.
The Watson School Dean's Office is located in the Library Building at LSG-546. Students visiting the Watson School for the first time should start their tours at the Watson School Student Services Office in the Engineering Building at EB-H11.
